ALPR Privacy Policy

ParkStash Inc. utilizes automated license plate recognition ("ALPR") technology at multiple locations. ALPR systems are installed through ParkStash Inc. technology partners.

A. Purpose

ALPR information is used for:

Parking enforcement through Enforcer App

Making sure only vehicles with valid permits are parked in the parking lot

Giving violation warnings to repeat offenders

B. Access and Use of the ALPR System(s)

The following parties are authorized to access and use the ALPR System(s):

ParkStash Parking Management Personnel

Enforcers invited specifically by entity where ALPR are installed through Parking Management Dashboard

Security Personnel

Police Departments

Authorized users undergo training on the operation and proper use of the ALPR system(s).

Training Requirements

All authorized users must complete training covering:

Appropriate use of ALPR data for authorized purposes only

Data privacy and security requirements

Access logging and audit trail procedures

Incident reporting and data breach protocols

Annual refresher training on policy updates

C. System Monitoring

ParkStash and its ALPR system vendors utilize physical access controls, digital permission controls, and other technological, procedural, and operational security measures to protect ALPR information from unauthorized access, destruction, use, modification, or disclosure. In addition, ALPR system vendors conduct periodic audits of the ALPR system(s) in order to ensure the accuracy of the system(s).

D. Information Sharing

ParkStash Inc. and the authorized users identified above do not sell ALPR information. They do not share ALPR information except with each other for the purposes stated above, or as obligated by law, or as necessary for law enforcement to respond to an emergency.

E. Official Custodian

The official custodian of the ALPR information is the Community/Parking Department Manager. For additional information please contact the Entity Community Manager.

F. Data Accuracy

Reasonable technical measures, including regular testing, are utilized in order to ensure the accuracy of ALPR information.

G. Data Retention

ALPR information is retained for a period of 30 days unless increased due to legal obligations.

H. Changes to this Policy

This ALPR Usage and Privacy Policy may be revised from time to time by ParkStash Inc. Any changes to the policy will take effect upon posting, and will apply to all ALPR system data regardless of when it was collected, in accordance with applicable law. We will notify authorized users of any material changes to this policy.

I. Compliance Statement

We comply with applicable ALPR laws and regulations (e.g., CA SB 34) and follow industry best practices for data protection and privacy.

This policy is posted publicly in compliance with applicable transparency requirements and demonstrates our commitment to responsible ALPR data handling regardless of regulatory mandates.
